B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! Monday started out good for the house winning with the Knicks +7, LeBron-less Cleveland +2, Troy +5, and Saint Mary’s +4 and losing only Dallas -6 ½ and the Golden State game over 217.

Tuesday the players did a little better winning with Utah +5 and South Florida -7 and the house countered with a big win on Saint John’s +4 ½ to make a small profit for the day.

Wednesday the house won with Saint John’s again +4 and Iowa State +8 ½ and lost with the Nuggets -8 (the game landed 8 so most bets won or pushed), Utah -5 ½, Spurs -9 ½, and Notre Dame -2 to give the players a winning day.

On Thursday the house picked up wins with Washington +7 in the NBA and Miami Florida +3 ½, Nebraska +8, and Georgia +1 ½ in the college. The players successfully countered with the popular Georgetown +5 ½, Kansas State -4 ½, Florida -5 ½, UCLA -1, and Georgia Tech -4 (the game landed on the spread; another game where most players won or pushed).

Friday the house won with Philly +7 in the NBA and NC State +6 ½, Illinois + 7 ½, and Minnesota +3 ½ in NCAA. The players came back strong with wins on Xavier -3 ½, Kansas -9, Washington +8 ½, and Purdue -8 (yet another game on the number) to make a profit for the day.

Saturday saw the house win with Jersey +9 and the Knicks +10 ½ in the NBA and with Mississippi State +2 and Washington +2 in college. The players won with Orlando – 11 ½, Atlanta -12, and the Spurs -11 ½ in the NBA and in college picked up big wins with Kentucky -5, Richmond +3, and two high volume games landing on the spread with Georgetown +2½ (landed 2 so disaster for the books) and Ohio State landing 7 to beat up the books for the day.

Sunday wasn’t much better for the house, which won with the Pacers +9 ½ and Mississippi State +7 and lost with Cleveland -7, Oklahoma City -3, Phoenix -10, and Portland -8 ½; in college, the house lost with Temple landing on 4. It was a tough week to be a bookmaker with all the games landing on the spread.

Good luck, players; talk to you next week!

Well, players, a busy week has come to and end and it was a battle with the books barely getting the best of it. Monday the books only won the Clippers and the Sooners in the college; the players grabbed NBA wins with Orlando, Cleveland, and the Spurs and picked up a big win in the college with West Virginia to start out the week on top.

Tuesday the house won with Golden State and Sacramento in the pros and Michigan and Iowa State in the college; the players countered with Boston and the Lakers in the NBA and Villanova and North Carolina in the college as the house made a small profit.

Wednesday the house won with Sacramento and Minny in the NBA and Memphis and Notre Dame in the college, but the players retaliated strongly with Atlanta, Cleveland, and Phoenix in the NBA and Kentucky and Purdue (landed on the number) in NCAA to have a wash out of a day.

Thursday the house had their best day sweeping the NBA, Memphis and Miami leading the way. The players did some damage in college: high volume game Arizona landed 5 and they also found Pacific -2 ½ against Fullerton, but the house came out on top this day.

Friday the players got their revenge as the house picked up small wins on Charlotte and the Pistons and the players picked up wins with Milwaukee, Boston, Oklahoma City, and Toronto (landing 6) and also the players added Saint Johns in the college to light up the books on Friday.

Saturday the house picked up much needed wins on Indiana (NBA) and in the college big wins on West Virginia, Penn State, Louisville, and Wisconsin Milwaukee. The players answered back with the Spurs and Utah in the NBA and Georgetown, Maryland, Kansas, and Old Dominion in the college, yet the books because of sheer volume scraped out a small win.

Sunday the players tabbed early NBA winner Philly and the Lakers game landing 2 set the book down early. The books won with the Gators hanging close to Kentucky to get some back. But the players came right back with wins on North Iowa and Wisconsin to get the books tilted a little. The house needs UL Monroe +8 and Portland (college) +3 to get the day back.

Take care players; speak with you next week!

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Monday rolled around with a small win for the house. It picked up big wins on Washington and the Bucks in the NBA and lost on Dallas, and it also took a beating on U Conn as the public correctly found them.

Tuesday was a good NBA day for the books as New Orleans and Memphis brought home wins and the house also won on Florida in the college; the players countered strong with Florida, Syracuse and Old Dominion (slowly becoming one of the more popular public choices, the Monarchs are).

Wednesday the house won big with Dallas in the NBA only to give most of it back with Orlando winning for the players. In the college, the house won with FSU and lost with Ohio State and Fullerton (a high volume game) that fell 2 to make all bets on that game a win or a push.

Thursday the house picked up big wins on Oregon and ASU in the college and lost on a key NBA game as Milwaukee fell 2, with a game like that that jumps around plus the public correctly betting it was a disaster and in the college folks seemed to take their winnings over to Gonzaga (another very popular team) to put the books in the hole for Thursday.

Friday was a big day for the books as they won with New Orleans (NO), Dallas, Philly and Princeton and only lost the Cavs game to have a big night.

Saturday was a huge board; I’ll only touch on a few key ones I could talk for five paragraphs on if I wanted to. The house won with Jersey in the NBA and college with George Mason, Tennessee, Saint Bonny, Maryland and VCU (once again opposite Old Dominion, a public darling) and the books gave some back on North Carolina (which is getting back in the public’s good graces) and UNLV and believe it or not Drexel cost the books a big number. Still with the huge schedule it was an ok day for the house but not what you would expect as the players won a lot of little decisions.

Sunday was a big day but I need to focus on Olympic hockey. First off, congrats to both teams on the best game I’ve watched in many years, and congrats to the US backers who cashed their tickets 2-2 regulation final but if I had to lose the Gold medal I was glad it was the best player in the NHL who scored it: Sidney Crosby. It was a great game. The day was a giant washout; the players won more games than they lost and the books were lucky to get out with their limbs attached.

Good luck players; talk to you next week!

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! Monday started out with the house winning on Texas A&M and losing on New Mexico State on a slow night. Tuesday rolled around with large NBA action where the house won with Jersey and Sacramento and lost with Oklahoma City and Utah, but because of huge volume as long as the house can split decisions and duck numbers any big schedule is profitable.

Wednesday was an NBA washout; the house made some juice but key college wins were Purdue and Notre Dame while there weren’t any big losses on the day. Hey, the more games the better for the house. Thursday the house won with Denver covering but it took its first big hit of the week with Boston beating the Lakers and cashing the money line; this was an auto stamp for the players. Friday, as usual, featured a big NBA card; the house had a good day winning
with the Wizards, Charlotte, Philly and the Celts (a rare occurrence in the bookmaking world) and losing with New Orleans and Chicago to have a good day.

Saturday, giving you guys games that were good or bad would insult your intelligence. It was the biggest schedule of the year gamewise and the house of course did fine. The key is to juice out your sharp guys and take a few decisions in other spots and pray for a few wins and no numbers landing. I know it sounds simple but it is not, yet if done properly it is profitable. Sunday the house did ok with Pittsburgh winning but gave some back on the very
popular Ohio State side and moneyline. All in all a good week for the house, but more so because of the amount of games as to opposed to any other factors.

Good luck guys, see you next week!

Super Bowl blues kicked in Monday but enough players managed to shake it off to have a great start to the week, as the books won one game with the Hornets covering. The players tabbed the Lakers, Dallas, Villanova, and Texas to put the books in a big early hole.

Tuesday was a small winner for the house; the main NBA wins were with NJ, the Kings, and the Pistons, and the players countered with Chicago, Miami, and Atlanta. Tuesday NCAA saw the books win with Illinois and Purdue and lose a big game on Georgetown.

Wednesday the books won with Miami, Sacramento, and New Orleans and lost with the Bucks for a winning night for the house in the NBA; it was an odd night in college with no big games to speak of and if no numbers land, the books do good and this was the case.

Thursday the action was pretty split on the two NBA games as the dogs were popular teams and the house lost small on Orlando losing to Cleveland and won small on the Spurs beating the Nuggets. In college the books won with Notre Dame and Youngstown (against the always popular Butler) and lost with Long Beach State and Gonzaga.

Friday was slow of course and the house did ok with Cornell losing though, a small winning day. Saturday the house picked up a big early win on Cincy beating Louisville but quickly gave most of that back as Michigan State trounced Penn State. The books also picked up key wins with Saint Louis and late night with Idaho to have a long and prosperous day.

Sunday not much to speak of; the All-Star Game landed on the number and went over to help the players have a small win. The house did real well on the Daytona 500 matchups and futures to have a nice day.

Talk to you next week players, good luck!

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Ok, I lied; I won’t talk about baskets this week. It was a good booking week for the home team, which most are. The Super Bowl had many big needs for halves and games, the books did well with Saints and under first half. The books also did well with Saints and under game, yet they took a big hit on the second half over which jogged, and the books won small against the Colts.

As usual the books did well on most props but lost big on Bush over 57 ½ total yards receiving and rushing; it was almost like Fridge Perry TD prop back against the Pats, the whole world found this one. But you have to be smart and take low limits on props, so most books lost a big number percentage wise but overall it all worked out.

Thanks guys. Good luck! Next week a few basket numbers.

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Well players, I promised you more basket coverage this week but that will have to wait. The public had a party Sunday in football and there is really no reason to tell you how the house ground out a nice week in baskets, which we did. The players set their sights on the Colts and over, and connected. Then they zeroed in on the Vikings; although there was counter action the public – the people you need to beat – had the Vikings and of course the over, that goes with out saying. The players also won all teasers unlike last week, to bury the books in one of the worst weekends of my memory. I’ve been doing this since 1981 so this was pretty bad.

Good luck players! I’ll be gone next week but I’ll keep this promise: I will be back Super Bowl Sunday and I will talk some baskets.

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Baskets are tough to give you guys a rundown of because of all the movement and groups playing games, especially in college. I will preview big decision public games in NBA and select colleges so you can see how the books did there; the big movement college games that Billy bets or RAS the books don’t carry big decisions on one way or another on those, we just don’t want numbers to fall.

Monday the books did well winning with Atlanta, the Bucks, and Golden State and losing with Utah and the ever popular Oklahoma City Thunder. Tuesday the books lost a little as Detroit was a big win but gave it back on the Spurs beating the Lakers and the apparently bad Kentucky line as they crushed the Gators. Wednesday was a busy day in the NBA but only a few big games; the house won with Indiana and the Timberwolves and lost on Portland to have a good day. Thursday the house won with the Bulls and gave back most of it as Utah fell 1, so many people pushed or won, only a few lost. Friday the house won with Charlotte, Detroit, and Portland and gave back some of that on the Lakers, Pacers and 76ers to have an ok day. What you need to know is games (which is a lot) that I don’t talk about were close in volume and nothing bad happened so as you know we – the house – did ok.

Saturday is a foots day. The public tabbed both chalks but not as much as one would think. The Arizona – New Orleans game was fairly close but the game going over hurt the books. The Colts game was bad; the only saving grace for the day was a few Arizona and / or Raven teasers the books beat. Sunday was another story: the public teased San Diego and Dallas to no avail and after the Dallas – Viking game (which was almost dead, even chart wise) the players reloaded on San Diego to get out. The house had a football party Sunday; for two games it was a big win.

Good luck next week… go Vikes!!

The week started out with a good and expected win for the house as Boise came through to make the books very happy. Boise has cost us money most of the year but we waited and got our revenge, as the public loved TCU. Not to preach, but Boise – as most odds makers know – was one of the best 3 teams this year, it is just the luck of the BCS.

Tuesday the books did good, but not great, as most would think; there is a lot of Iowa money anytime they play and rightfully so, they perform well in these spots so the house made a little money.

Wednesday was a booking nightmare; the favorite (Central Michigan) landed on the number and went over. This was compounded by the fact that none of this was possible at halftime so the public made it possible and they were correct.

The big game, as usual, was not a big deal for the house. The house needed Texas and over, so we split. The game itself was ok and got exciting late but financially the books didn’t care much.

Friday, in the NBA, the house had a nice night with Washington, Atlanta, Portland and Denver all getting wins to kill any multi-game wagers.

Saturday shows up and we get Jets and over to put the books on their heels and then the public was kind of mixed on the Dallas game but they agreed on the over to have a big day for the bettors. Sunday was a bookmaker’s wet dream: Ravens and over, Arizona and over. The only flat bet loss was on the Arizona Green Bay game over; all else went the house’s way to cap off a good week for the books.

Good luck players; talk to you next week!

Monday the players started out with a winner on Georgia -7 over A&M, but the books rebounded with a big win by the Bears to knock out Minnesota teasers and get a winning day. Tuesday the players got off to a good start again with UCLA and over in the early game and the books countered with Wisconsin beating the Hurricanes to once again declare a win for the day.

Wednesday the players won both games as Idaho, with a miracle one point win plus the players tabbed the over, and in the second game Nebraska’s 33-0 trouncing of Arizona made the players very fat for the day. Thursday started out good for the house with Navy and Air Force bringing in big early wins which kept the house above water for the day as the players made a small rally with Stanford and Virginia Tech to close out the day.

Friday the house started out good with Northwestern beating Auburn and Florida State burying West Virginia and the house pushed around on LSU and Ohio State; the killer for the books was the urban Meyer and the over on the late game as the players used this combo to bail out huge. Saturday the players started out good winning with South Florida; the house quickly countered with U Conn to even the score. The public correctly tabbed Mississippi, who was much better than their 14 point win, and the house countered again with East Carolina to even the score. Then, the players did what they did Friday night, favorite and over as Texas Tech played like they
needed to cover and they did to rack up a nice day for the players.

Sunday started out rocky for the house as Buffalo and Carolina rolled to easy wins over backup squads to get the players up early. The Lions’ usual showing had the books on their heels going into the afternoon games. The house rebounded with Dallas blowing out Philly to knock out some teasers and also knock out a few more with the Chiefs’ burial of the Broncos. Tennessee not covering helped the books turn a profit for the day. In the night game, no real roots need the Jets small.

Good luck players; next week I’ll get into the hoops more, which is hard to do when foots is 75% of your volume.
