Another week of football in the books, and speaking of the books, they had a great start on Monday with Buffalo and Oakland covering the number. The books also knocked out most teasers with New England winning by only 1, a few 10 pointers from early in the week -½ did get there, but not enough to offset the good start to the week by the house. Thursday rolled around and the game was pretty split for the public, many on the dog Georgia Tech and on the favorite Miami Florida; the house won the total as the public was very unlucky to lose the over 53 ½. The public exacted serious revenge though on Friday with a Boise onslaught of Fresno to garner both side and total.
Saturday had a rocky start for the house with early big wins on two main games for the public and the movers with Clemson -7 (closed 9) and North Carolina -7 (also closed 9) setting an early hole for the books. The books rebounded nicely with Nebraska and Michigan State covering and also picked up a nice win on the Volunteers. In the late action, the house took a small loss on Oklahoma but won that back easily on Texas Tech covering and with Rice covering, but the big game of the night for the house was a gutsy Georgia team beating Arkansas. Many people may have thought the books did well on USC losing, but that was not the case as the public smoked this easy winner out to make the game a washout for the house.
Sunday the players got a late big win with the Raiders scoring late and also picking up Minnesota and the public’s biggest win on the Saints. The house countered with only small wins on Cincinnati and the Texans. On the late games, the public and sharps won their big game on the Ravens, winning all bets including the moneyline for a sweep for the players; the house countered with a much needed Bear victory to even out the afternoon. In the Dallas game, as expected, a mixed bag with two popular teams playing, the house would like to see under 44 ½.
Good luck to the players, talk to you next week!
